  • Traveling “Technology Toolbox: provides robotics and virtual reality equipment to enhance and integrate STEM into classes in all grades across all disciplines. Made possible by a Webster Five Foundation grant (2018)
  • Alternate Seating for Focus and Strength: 30 Wobble Chairs, 44 stabili-T stools, 8 cube chairs, 8 twixt active seating stools. These dynamic seating options provide students with assistance for sensory needs, facilitating improved attention and core strength. (2017)

  • Responsive Classroom: training to implement The Responsive Classroom model, a school-wide philosophy, and a way of teaching which emphasizes the social, emotional and academic growth of elementary school students in a strong and safe learning environment. The philosophy focuses on the acronym CARES: C-Cooperation, A-Assertion, R-Responsibility, E-Empathy and S-Self-Control. (2013)
  • Community Health and Wellness Festival: to provide age-appropriate knowledge about healthy living and food allergy awareness. The festival’s goals are to raise the awareness about healthy food and lifestyle choices which are not typically taught in the classroom but effect academic performance; to educate children and their families about how to recognize, treat and respond to allergic reactions through creative and engaging music and discussion that could not otherwise be achieved in the classroom; and provide numerous resources, tools and assessment devices for managing and promoting individual wellness and healthy living options for both children and adults.   • “Unity is Harmony”: commission a work of music by Shepherd Hill alumnus and UMass graduate Thomas Wilson which will be performed for the public by the combined members of the Charlton Middle School, Dudley Middle School & Shepherd Hill bands in early 2012. Students will have opportunities to work with the composer himself. (2011)
  • Camp Character (gr 2-4) and Camp Touchstone (gr 5-8): combines work with animals and character education for at risk students across the district. (2012)
